Lyndsey Mason was born and raised in the Wood River Valley. A daughter of two chefs and restauranteurs, she spent much of her life embedded in culinary spaces, developing a deep love for food, cooking, community, and local food systems. As an adult, Lyndsey spent seven years as Town Square Tavern's head chef and general manager, where she strived to create innovative cuisine, highlighting locally sourced ingredients to tell a story.
In 2021, Lyndsey enrolled in a Master of Food Studies Program at New York University, where she focused her interests on media and digital storytelling through the lens of ingredients, cooking, and cuisine. She received her MA in the winter of 2023 and relocated back to her roots in Idaho, where she continues to cook and leads Mason Family Restaurant’s catering team.
In May 2024, Lyndsey joined the Sun Valley Institute for Resilience as a Part-time Program Coordinator. She looks forward to being part of SVIR’s mission to enhance sustainable local food systems in the valley. Using her love of food and storytelling, she is excited to connect local restaurants, chefs, and farmers. She hopes to help highlight the many vibrant stories behind the food we eat and its importance in building a resilient community.
